The dragon cave of Syrau is hidden about 16 metres underground. In 1928, the legendary Vogtland underworld was discovered. During quarry work, a variety of dripstones, crystal-clear lakes and halls shaped by water were discovered. Today, guests can marvel at the only show cave in Saxony and learn interesting facts about its creation and discovery with the help of a guided tour. 330 steps down to a 10°C cold cave. It owes its name to a Vogtland legend, which, according to a dragon, was once responsible for his misfortune in Syrau. The extraordinary cave panorama invites you to an adventurous experience for the whole family. Between May and August, the Dragon’s Cave is a unique setting for an impressive laser show. On the ground, children can let off steam on the playground and in the new adventure garden Terra Vira – Living Earth – while parents relax with a cup of coffee in the magnificent cave park.
