The Catholic Side

A railing in the middle of Bautzen Cathedral marks the boundary between the Catholic and the Protestant halves of the church. But since 1979, a picture of the Last Supper has hung over the two adjacent entrances to the church halves, expressing the longing of many Christians for unity. The contrasts of the Reformation period, which even Martin Luther could not reconcile, are certainly not entirely overcome. And yet, in the motherland of the Reformation, Catholicism has been playing an important role again for a long time; in some places it has always played this role.
