Description

The Oberlausitz Mountain Trail takes you through the south-eastern corner of Saxony and the border region of Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic featuring a varied low mountain range. Along the way lie the Oberlausitz region’s major mountains Valtenberg (587 m), Bieleboh (499 m), Kottmar (583 m), Lausche (793 m) and Hochwald (749 m). Discover fascinating rock formations and idyllic, densely wooded valleys and visit this region’s picturesque villages with their living traditions and characteristic style.

 

Trail markers  
The Oberlausitz Mountain Trail, part of the long-distance hiking trail Zittau-Wernigerode, is marked with the “Blue Line“ as well as the logo "Ferienlandschaft der Umgebindehäuser".

 

Features 
The route leads through the varied Oberlausitz mountain region featuring granite mountain ridges and volcanic hilltops in alternation with distinctive sandstone mountains. Numerous peaks along the mostly natural trails invite hikers to take a rest in mountain inns.
