General

The mountain fortress is a beloved excursion destination for explorers both young and old. More than 50 buildings and extensive green spaces on an area the size of 13 football pitches extend an invitation to an "adventure fortress". It has several vantage points for different fascinating panoramic views over Saxon Switzerland all the way to Dresden.

Accessibility

Notes on accessibility / deviations from the pictograms:

  • Guests can drive all the way to the ticket office, 4 disabled parking spaces available
  • Slopes/inclinesin the fortress and partly quite steep ramps into the buildings, accompanying person recommended
  • Some exhibitions are accessible without steps
  • Toilet for wheelchair users (in the fortress, with EURO key): door 86 cm, 160x150 cm in front, 90 cm next to toilet
  • Another toilet for wheelchair users downstairs at the ticket office
  • A tour map for wheelchair users provides a better overview of difficult paths
  • Assistance dogs can be taken along free of charge
  • Touch model of the mountain fortress with explanations in Braille and relief writing
