The presentation Otto Dix and the New Objectivity is dedicated to contemporary and object-oriented art by Otto Dix until June 21, 2020.Dix developed his own critical realism from 1921 onwards, combining old master technique with biting social criticism, and thus became one of the most important protagonists of the New Objectivity. In his exile in Hemmenhofen on Lake Constance, where he fled after being dismissed from his Dresden Academy professorship by the National Socialists, he mainly created landscape paintings, executed in the elaborate glaze technique of old German panel painting.
