On display will be works by the artist Spandlitz, including paintings, reliefs, sculptures and drawings that were created fragmentarily, by chance or by lines. The Dresden artist also does not hide his cheerful side, which has become known in recent years, in this exhibition. Spandlitz, whose real name is Florian Schneider, uses unusual materials for his sculptural works: in addition to bronze, wood, concrete and natural stone, he also uses coffee grounds. His predominantly richly coloured paintings and drawings are of a loose to fleeting style - a trademark of the artist. Spandlitz has also made a name for himself as an art lecturer. Since 2016, the 41-year-old, who holds a degree in education, has been teaching art, freehand drawing and stylistics at various educational institutions. He himself was a student of Uwe Appold, Kerstin Franke Gneuss and Thomas Reichstein. Spandlitz spent many years nationwide in the preservation of historical monuments and formative product development. Today he lives and works in Dresden.
