The Mozartfest Würzburg brought them together, the Berlin opera director and conductor Christoph Hagel and the Bavarian breakdance group DDC. Together they were to create a breakdance show to the music of Mozart. The winner of the Klassik-Echo-Award and the two times Breakdance World Champions from Schweinfurt combined Breakdance with the music of Mozart for the first time in a full evening show. The young dancers take up the challenge of Mozart and combine their art with the music of the Viennese wunderkind in a unique way. Mozart sounds at the piano, interpreted by Christoph Hagel, in orchestral versions and in modern hip-hop arrangements. Booming techno beats are just as much a part of the repertoire as Funky Mozart and Rocking Amadeus. The coloratura aria of the Queen of the Night from "The Magic Flute" is sung to a furious breakdance interlude. "Breakin'Mozart" was premiered with great success at the Mozartfest Würzburg in June 2013 and could be seen on almost 200 evenings at the Berlin Wintergarten Varieté in 2014 and 2015. Since 2015, "Breakin' Mozart" has been touring the German-speaking countries and giving guest performances in renowned venues such as the Liederhalle in Stuttgart and the Munich Philharmonic.
