The Moritzburg Festival under leadership of Jan Vogler plans for the first time in 28 years a festival completely open air. To protect the audience and artists all the the concerts from 2nd to 16th August will be relocated to the north terrace of castle Moritzburg. Health and musical enjoyment go hand in hand!
Up to 160 artists can admire for example the 16 members of the Moritzburg Festival Academy. Thanks to the end of travel restrictions in Europe the majority of the artists is able to travel to the festival. Besides the regulars Kai Vogler (violin), Mira Wang (violin) and Jan Vogler (violoncello) the audience can look forward to a reunion with Ismo Eskelinen (guitar), Lars Anders Tomter (viola), Andrea Lucchesini, Lise de la Salle (piano) and Andreas Brantelid (violoncello).
Highlights of the 28th Moritzburg Festival are the opening with sounds of the guitar from Italy, the premiere of the string quartet nr.2 of the Czech componist Bohuslav Martinu as well as Peter Tschaikowskys energetic string sextet d-minor „Souvenir de Florence“ which rings together with Robert Schumanns piano quartet Es-major and Luigi Cherubinis „Pater Noster“ for solo violin and string quintett.
