The Luther Trail in Saxony

Pilgrimages were “fools’ work” – it was during his own journey to Rome that Martin Luther started to believe that Christians come to God by faith alone and not by “galloping off” and doing other pious works. With modern pilgrims, however, there is something else in the foreground – not the destination but the road to themselves, to others and to God. “A hike through Reformation history” can be experienced on the Luther Trail. The Saxon part of the Central German Luther Trail leads visitors to places where Luther and other reformers lived and worked, showing the genesis and impact of the Reformation.
