Privacy policy for Facebook, Google+ and Twitter plug-ins (Like button)

On our pages, we have integrated Google+, Twitter and Facebook (Facebook Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, California, 94025, USA) plug-ins. The Facebook logo or the Like button that you will find on our pages are signifiers for the Facebook plug-ins. For an overview of Facebook plug-ins please click here developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

In general, each plug-in facilitates a direct connection between your browser and the servers of the providers of the social media services Google+, Twitter and Facebook. Thus, the providers receive information about you having visited our site with your IP address.

We have integrated a specific safety measure on our site ensuring utmost compliance with data protection legislation: Only once you have activated these buttons and thereby given your consent to communicating with Facebook, Google+ or Twitter will a connection to these social networks be established.

2-clicks concept

The connection to the social media services will only be established upon the second click on the respective button. In the case of Facebook and Google+, this will happen without the appearance of an additional window should you already be logged into the social network of your choice. In the case of Twitter, a pop-up window will appear where you can edit your tweet.

Clicking on one of these buttons means that you as as a user have agreed to your data being sent to the provider of the respective social network. However, this applies only to this one page and this chosen service. If you visit other pages on our website, the deactivated button will again appear. Thus, you can use social media platforms without giving them the opportunity to generate comprehensive profiles of how you surf the web.

All buttons can be permanently activated

Users who do not care about data being transmitted and are more concerned with easy of use and convenience can permanently activate the button for the social media platform that is being used on a regular basis. In order to do that, the box under the gear wheel icon must be ticked which will result in the chosen button to always be activated. Unticking the gear wheel icon will reverse this status.

Please note that as the provider of these pages we are not informed about the content of the data transmitted and neither do we know how Facebook uses this data. For further information, please see Facebook’s privacy policy here, http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you want to prevent Facebook from being able to attribute your visit to our site to your Facebook account, please log out of your Facebook account.

as definded by the German Data Protection Act – please see Imprint.
